Jess's story

Jess has an incredible transformation story through the support she received at The Mish in Launceston over the past 12 months.

Jess was referred to The Mish by NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme) last year. She looked over one of our brochures and decided that The Mish in Launceston might be a good step forward in helping her be more social.

Before coming to The Mish, Jess was very shy and rarely left her house. She didn't have many outlets to meet people and she felt like this was hindering any opportunity she had to find employment.

Since being involved with The Mish's mentoring and art programs, Jess has been able to come out of her shell. Her initiative, confidence and social skills have improved a great deal.

Jess started Cert III in Business with Tafe late last year, is playing soccer with the New Horizon's club and volunteers at Queen Victoria Museum and Art Gallery (QVMAG).
