Moving with the Mission
Posted on October 02, 2017
We recently launched an affordable removalist option for low income earners and retirees.
Recent statistics show that insecure housing tenure is a significant issue for low income earners in Australia with many forced to move more frequently than those earning higher incomes.
"There are many reasons that people move house. Within the rental market short term leases remain an issue for renters with most only offering a twelve-month term," said CEO Stephen Brown.
"Affordability is also another significant factor with 33% of individuals in Tasmania paying more than $301 per week in rent and 51% of households paying more than $301 per week. There are also people who are escaping family violence situations who simply don't have the financial resources required to relocate themselves."
The service has been set up to meet a demand in the market for a low cost, affordable removal service for low income earners, retirees or those experiencing financial hardship.
"We decided to set up the service as we had so many people talking to us about the cost of moving house," said Operations Manager Recycling & Logistics, Greg Howell.
"It's a stressful time on its own, let alone having an added financial burden when you're already doing it tough."
Eligibility for Moving with the Mission is open to healthcare and pension care holders. Quotes and more information on the service can be obtained by phoning (03) 6343 2115.
