Our why?

Established in 1854, City Mission is Australia's second oldest 'Mission'. City Mission has been providing care and assistance to people experiencing hardship and disadvantage in our local community for 170 years. With the assistance of selfless staff, dedicated volunteers and generous donors and supporters we continue to provide a helping hand to thousands experiencing hardship, providing a way forward and a brighter future, transforming lives in the name of Jesus, in local communities across North and North West Tasmania.

Our Mission

City Mission exists to meet the Physical, Emotional, Social and Spiritual needs of the people of our community; to demonstrate God’s love in action

(Our Mission Statement is a written declaration of our core purpose and focus, and serves as a filter to separate what is truly important to us and what is not.)

Our Vision

(Our Vision Statement represents an aspirational description of what we would like to achieve consistently over the long term. It serves as a guide for choosing current and future courses of action and serves to inspire and motivate us.)
