Safeguarding Children and Vulnerable Adults
City Mission is unwavering in its commitment to the rights of all children and vulnerable adults, ensuring they are protected from abuse and neglect and can live feeling safe, valued, and hopeful for the future.
City Mission adheres to safeguarding best practice. We follow the principles and guidelines outlined in the Tasmanian Child and Youth Safe Organisations Framework and comply with the Child and Youth Safe Organisations Act 2023, reinforcing our dedication to creating safe and supportive environments for everyone in our care.
To protect individuals from harm and to promote their safety and wellbeing, City Mission is committed to fulfilling its moral, ethical, professional, and legal responsibilities. This commitment applies to all City Mission staff and volunteers across all service areas. We prioritise appropriate and responsive action to ensure the safety of any child, young person, or vulnerable adult who may be at risk of harm from abuse or neglect.
To support this, City Mission has adopted the following policies, procedures, and guiding documents, which underpin our efforts to safeguard children, young people, and vulnerable adults effectively.
