Peer Worker Alcohol and Other Drugs

Part time (22 hours)

City Mission is seeking an individual to provide peer support to current and future residents of Missiondale by using their own lived experience of substance use and subsequent recovery.  The position requires the employee to develop working relationships with Missiondale residents and Missiondale staff. Primarily the Peer Worker will be responsible for supporting residents during program at Missiondale to apply the values, principles and guidelines of Missiondale as a Therapeutic Community in order to work towards recovery.

City Mission is seeking an individual to provide peer support to current and future residents of Serenity House by using their own lived experience of substance use and subsequent recovery.

Support Worker AOD - Serenity House

Part time - Day

(53.2 hours across a fortnight)

City Mission is seeking compassionate support workers to join our team at Serenity House.

Serenity House is a Sobering Up and Place of Safety facility located in Burnie, North-West Tasmania. It is also a place for ‘time-out’, offering communal living under the support and supervision of trained staff. While staying at Serenity House, individuals have the opportunity to look at long term options for recovery and this may include a pathway to longer term residential rehabilitation services.

Part time (30 hours)

Are you passionate about empowering others and creating meaningful change? City Mission is seeking a compassionate and driven Key Development Coach to join our Safe Space team—a 24/7 service supporting people experiencing homelessness with dignity, connection, and stability. In this role, you’ll be more than a case manager—you’ll be a coach, a connector, and a catalyst for hope. Working within the Housing Connect System, you’ll walk alongside individuals as they navigate their housing journey.

The Fundraising Team of City Mission exists to inspire and invite individuals, communities, and organisations to contribute their financial support, ideas, and resources to help fulfill the vision of transforming lives, communities, and futures. 

The Development Lead is responsible for the implementation of City Mission’s Major Gift Strategic plan by delivering a range of activities aimed at developing relationships and securing revenue to help City Mission achieve its strategic goals in their assigned region. (North West Coast)

Coordinator Operations and Purchasing

Part time (35 hours)

City Mission is looking for a motivated and highly organised Coordinator Operations and Purchasing to join our City Operations team.

The Coordinator Operations and Purchasing is required to manage the volunteer staff and operations. Including the ordering and arranging delivery of supplies for all City Mission operations along with oversight and co-ordination of donations to the site – both food and other items.

Assistant Manager Retail Newnham

Full time

City Mission is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Assistant Retail Manager with initiative and leadership capabilities to support the Shop Manager in the management of paid and volunteer workers.

The position is required to assist in the management of the staff and operations of a Mission Retail Shop in the delivery of quality retail goods and service, and requires the employee to develop positive working relationships with peers, management, the general public and stakeholders.

Position Description

Case Worker Admissions - Missiondale

Full time

City Mission is seeking a compassionate and proactive individual to support others who are pursuing help to manage their use of alcohol or other substances. The Case Worker Admissions is required to work within the Intake Team to undertake assessment of clients applying to Serenity House, which is a Sobering Up and Place of Safety facility located in Burnie.

The role is based at Missiondale (Evandale) but will be obtaining intake assessments for clients wanting to apply at Serenity House (Burnie).
