Casual Attendant (Burnie)

City Mission is seeking a casual attendant to work in our Burnie Resale Centre.

Essential Qualifications/Experience:

  • Some experience in Retail Operations.
  • Ability to follow legislation pertaining to Retail Operations and Work Health and Safety requirements
  • Ability to operate within a diverse team
  • Ability to work in a strong odour (occasionally) environment
  • A Satisfactory National Police Check is required for all roles at LCM

Desirable:

  • Experience in an organisation based in Christian ethos.
  • Experience with EFTPOS.POS.
  • First aid certificate (or willingness to obtain)

The position is required to assist the Resale Centre Supervisor in the delivery of retail service.

The position requires the employee to develop working relationships with peers, the general public, stakeholders and other functional areas within the organisation.

Primarily the Resale Shop Assistant will be responsible for: customer service, receiving, sorting and processing resalable items, safely unloading goods suitable for resale, general site safety and Duty of Care, merchandising, maintaining of store cleanliness and presentation.

This is a Casual position and salary will be based on the General Retail Industry Award 2010 (MA000004).

Kitchen Helper

​Do you have some spare time and an interest in working in a vibrant and caring local community?

Morton’s Place in Launceston offers free breakfast and low-cost lunches for anyone in need five days a week. And we are looking for enthusiastic volunteer kitchen assistants to help provide meals and contribute to our welcoming community space.

Successful applicants will need a kind heart and a flexible approach to diverse personalities. You will help with the preparation of breakfast and lunchtime meals, and cleaning activities. Morton’s place is open from 8:30am to 1:00pm weekdays.

The choir is run on a voluntary basis and meets each Wednesday from 10:00am until 12:00pm at the City Mission Chapel on Frederick Street, Launceston.

Choir members are a diverse mix of talents and backgrounds. It is a place where people come not only to sing, but to find acceptance and friendship. The successful applicant will need a flexible approach to diverse personalities and a heart for people.
