Fundraising Activities

'Share your Warmth' is our theme for this year's Winter Relief campaign, launched on Friday 1 June. The campaign aims to raise funds to help us provide food, shelter, clothing and financial assistance to Northern Tasmanians this winter. We are grateful to have the support of our major sponsor, Bushby Property Group, continue for another year.

As part of the Winter Relief campaign, we have planned a number of events to involve the community and support fundraising activities, which we hope you can join in on!

Dare to Rewear

Friday 6 July

Join us for our inaugural 'Dare to Rewear' fundraiser! Raising funds as part of City Mission's Winter Relief, our challenge, or dare, to you and your team is to 'rewear' something from one of our Mission Shops on Friday 6 July.

You can choose to wear a whole outfit or just a single item.

As an incentive, we'll be offering a prize for the best dressed team, judged by our mystery local celebrities. To be eligible, share your pic on Instagram using the hashtag, #daretorewear

This is a great way for your business, school, service club or team to get involved and help to raise funds for people in need in our local community.

Dare to Rewear

Pay It Forward Dinner

Thursday 19 July, 6:00pm - 8:30pm

Now in its third year, our Pay It Forward Dinner is held in Morton's Place. Guests are asked to join us for a three-course dinner and invited to 'pay it forward' by paying what they think the experience is worth. All funds raised on the night are used to provide free meals to Morton's Place patrons throughout the year.

This year, our celebrity chefs will be Anna and Henry Terry and will prepare the entree.

So why Pay It Forward?

  • To encourage all of us to embrace the incredible power of giving;
  • To show each other that we care and that there is love, hope and magic all around us;
  • To know that we may be only one person in this world, but to one person, at one time, we are the world.

Hoodies for Homelessness

Friday 10 August

Register your business, school or group to wear a hoodie and raise awareness (and funds) for homelessness during National Homelessness Awareness Week.

You're also invited to join us for a special breakfast to be held at Morton's Place from 7:00am on Friday 10 August.

Winter Relief Gala Fundraiser

Friday 17 August

Join us for a stellar evening at Launceston’s iconic Star Theatre as we take a trip back to the 80s and enjoy all the music and fun of the classic Blues Brothers movie.Dress in theme, enjoy live music, canapes, free drink on arrival and great raffle prizes to be won.

Dress: Black suit, Fedora and Sunglasses

Price: $70 per person-all funds raised supporting City Mission’s Winter Relief Campaign
