Accommodating the Homeless

Orana House

Orana House provides crisis and long-term accommodation for males aged 21 years and over. Orana House also provides beds for Sobering Up and Place of Safety for males and females. This facility is located in Newnham, Tasmania and is directly on the main bus route with a stop outside the main gate.

Short term emergency accommodation is assisted by a grant from Department of Health and Human Services. Orana House also receives funding from the Crown, through the THO to provide a Place of Safety and Sobering Up service.

How Can You Help?


Volunteering with us can be very rewarding plus you get to support your local community. There are many roles available to assist in delivering our core services across Northern Tasmania. 


Financial Giving

Every dollar given is directed towards our services. You can make a donation at any time online, in person or via post. Regular giving is easy with Mission360 where you can ‘set and forget’ your monthly or quarterly pledge.


Other Donations

Recycle your unwanted and reusable goods by donating them to our Mission Shops and other social enterprises. All profits made through our shops are redirected into maintaining and growing our client services.
