Over 30% of City Mission’s income is derived from social enterprise operations, generating funding for core programs and services each year. Last year, thanks to community support, $2.9 million in sales were generated through Mission Shops. Please keep shopping with us and helping make a difference to the lives of those in our community who need it most.

Mission on George

Mission on George is a speciality retail store targeting the higher-end clothing and collectibles market.

This boutique shop is located in Launceston's CBD and attracts a niche cohort of customers seeking high-end, quirky, collectible or unusual bargains.

Do you have an item that would suit our boutique shop? You can make your donation at our warehouses or donation bins. All donations are sorted appropriately with any items suited to our boutique shop making their way to Mission on George.

Uptipity & Burnie Resale Shop

Uptipity is a resale shop located at the Launceston Waste Centre. City Mission operate the shop and recycling depot in partnership with Launceston City Council.

Burnie Resale Shop is located at the Burnie Waste Centre and is operated by City Mission in partnership with Burnie City Council.

A range of unwanted and recyclable goods are available to purchase that have been donated by the local community. All proceeds directly support the delivery of client service activities in Northern Tasmania.

Donations can be made to Uptipity via the Recycling depot and for our Burnie Resale Shop, donations can be made directly to the shop.

E-Waste

E-Waste receives, processes and on-sells electronic waste including computers and the now redundant analogue televisions.

E-Waste is collected from numerous waste centre sites around Tasmania. Revenue produced from the sale of electronic components helps fund various client service activities of City Mission across Northern Tasmania.

What is classed as E-Waste? TVs, phones, PCs, laptops, hard-drives, cords, plug, discs, thumb-drives and computer-related waste(that is anything that will plug into a computer).

E-INFORMATION DESTRUCTION– from March 2016, E-Waste will also offer a fully certified ‘information destruction’ service.

YOU CAN ENSURE THAT YOUR E-WASTE IS DISPOSED OF RESPONSIBLY.

Hunta Gatha

Hunta Gatha provides an innovative youth-based space comprising of a retail shop featuring recycled quality clothing and new fashion labels and, a makers market.

The shop features a jungle-themed interior design and its name is inspired by the thrill of hunting for a bargain and the gathering of young people in a niche space.

Clothing at the shop is inspired by streetwear and on-trend fashion, combining a mix of preloved and new fashion labels. New fashion labels will include Cherry Lane, Brave Soul U.S. Basketball tops and Essence Cosmetics - for a small range of cosmetics.

The second part of the Hunta Gatha space, makers market, will serve as an incubator for young people with an interest and ability in creating art and craft. The makers market will be established on the upper level of the building in the coming months
