Christmas Appeal

The best thing to open this Christmas is your heart.

We are asking people to open their hearts this Christmas as it is a challenging time for many families and individuals in our communities across Northern Tasmania. Last year we helped over three hundred individuals and families with food, gifts and emergency relief. We expect to exceed this number this year as there is increasing demand for support.

Our focus is to raise funds to ensure everyone can enjoy a special meal on Christmas Day and children wake up with at least one gift to open.

Donate to our Christmas Appeal now.

Tap n Go initiative

Several businesses have partnered with us this year to offer their customers a quick and simple method of donating to the Appeal. These businesses will have a machine where customers can tap a credit or debit card and donate a pre-set amount.

Kids Giving Project

With the hope of inspiring children to help other children at Christmas time, we have created a 'Kids Giving Project'. Heart decoration kits are available to purchase in each of our Mission Shops for $5 and the money will go towards providing another child with a gift who would otherwise go without at Christmas.

The kits come with pre-cut felt hearts, hanging string attached, stuffing (cotton wool balls) and string. A needle or glue are not included in the kits. Children are able to sew or glue their heart together, stuffing it with cotton wool balls when they get halfway, and hang the decoration on the tree. It is a nice reminder that they have helped transform another child's Christmas.

We'd love to see your creations so please share with us on Instagram using #openyourheart
