City Mission Winter Appeal
Posted on June 01, 2021
Winter can be a challenging time for many within our community, as the cold sets in, so does the fear of when their next hot meal will be, where they will get enough money to pay their electricity bill and if they can afford a warm coat for their child.
Launceston City Mission’s Winter Appeal aims to help those most in need by raising awareness and funds that will help vulnerable people across the North and North-West of Tasmania.
“Many individuals and families in our local community will be facing considerable financial challenges this winter,” said City Mission’s CEO Stephen Brown.’’
“Every dollar we receive from the community during City Mission’s Winter Appeal will help us to continually help those in need and provide them with much-needed assistance.
“We believe that everyone should be able to have a roof over their head and food on the table during Tasmania’s coldest months,” he said.
Last year the appeal helped thousands of Tasmanians by providing financial assistance, groceries, clothing and household goods, as well as breakfasts and lunch through Morton’s Place and City Kitchen.
“The services we provide are possible because our community is incredibly generous,” said Mr Brown.
“We are very thankful for everyone who is planning to make a donation to City Mission Winter Appeal so we can restore local lives this winter.”
