Family Services Relieving Financial Pressure
Posted on April 24, 2017
Megan was referred to us a couple of years ago as someone in need.
Her electricity had been disconnected and she was behind in her rental payments. Food supplies were also low and she was not sure how to feed herself and two sons due to the amount owed in rent.
One of our emergency relief case workers in Family Services helped Megan by contacting her power supplier and negotiating a payment plan to then have it reconnected. Family Services also provided Megan with food vouchers and assisted her with Centrelink paperwork to allow her older son to start receiving benefits.
Megan was looking forward to having light and warmth in her home again, food on the table and less financial pressure.
