World Leader in Student Volunteering

'Earthquake Boy', Sam Johnson dropped into one of our Mission Shops a few weeks ago for some active gear.

He had been told that the Gorge was a great place for a run so he went to one of our stores where our friendly staff helped him pick out clothes and sneakers. Sam ran through the Gorge and then donated the clothes (washed of course) back before leaving the state!

Sam was here to give a lecture at University of Tasmania on his journey which started from  being responsible for the student volunteer army consisting of 11,000  people to clean up after Christchurch earthquakes. A New Zealander, Sam travels the world motivating voluntee r groups involved in natural disasters. More can be found about Sam at:
