Missiondale

Target Group:

People over 18 years of age that want to overcome any of life’s addictions (ie drug, alcohol etc). Please refer to separate brochure for families or single parents with children in their care.

Aims:

• Educate people about the effects and consequences of addictive behaviours.
• Assist people to discover an addiction free lifestyle.
• Provide positive skills to help people cope with everyday problems.
• Help people develop interpersonal skills.
• Provide one-on-one counselling enabling people to work through personal problems.

Admission Criteria and Guidelines:

The admission criteria and guidelines of Missiondale provide a basis for maximising the effectiveness of the program, and to minimise any possible problems. Before admission, clients will be given a handbook that details the guidelines in full. Following is an overview of some of the guidelines. Before admission to Missiondale:-

Clients must be fully detoxed;

Clients are also required to pay and entry fee of $100 and sign their Centrelink income over to the City Mission for their weekly board and lodging of $165 to be deducted. Board and lodging is required to be paid fortnightly in advance (arrangements will be put in place for this).

• Clients are required to pay for their own personal items; i.e. scripts, bathroom accessories etc.
• Clients are required to remain full-time at the premises for the first eight weeks. After this time, day leave may be arranged. Residents work towards weekend leave.
• No drugs, alcohol, gambling or violence is permitted at Missiondale.
• Residents are required to submit to random urine/breath test screening.
• Should any of the guidelines be broken penalties will be applied which can range from being returned to pre-program or stood down from Missiondale for a minimum of 28 days.
• Should residents decide to leave the program, a stand down period of 28 days exists before clients can be assessed for re-admittance to Missiondale.
