Family Support
in ONE WAY or another CITY MISSION Helps 10 Families EVERY DAY!
Basic things like accommodation, food, blankets, even a towel to have a shower.
No big deal to the average person. But if you are a refugee of migrant 12000 km
from home with only the clothes you are wearing, no money and no English, a hot
shower and a good meal can help you feel more welcome. Despite the generosity of
many in our community and the dedication of our staff and our 300 volunteers, the
need for us to do more is increasing. And it doesn't go away.
With your continued financial, voluntary and prayerful support, we can fulfil
our aim of “sharing God’s love” to the less fortunate amongst us.
The City Mission exists not only to help change situations for people, but also to see people change through the love of God being shared in relevant and practical ways.
Fact:
Everyday we turn away on average one person who has nowhere else to go.
Our crisis centre provides short term accommodation for up to two weeks.
Fact:
We would not be able to achieve anything without the dedication of our 300+ volunteers.
You'll find them everywhere in the city. At any time of the day or night. Picking up
intoxicated young people off the streets and taking them home. Giving counselling. Helping
sort the clothing and furniture. Helping out with administration. Serving customers in
our shops. Befriending marginalised people who have nowhere else to go. We are always
looking for more willing hands, especially those with special skills and experience. If
you would like to give us a hand:
